The upcoming second season of the International League T20 (ILT20) is about to start, and there are some exciting new changes in the playing rules, namely the introduction of the Super Sub and the Wildcard entry. The Gulf Giants, who had put on an incredible and magical performance, brought home the trophy in a grand way at the inaugural edition of the DP World ILT20. A total of 11 players, from the first season, have been retained for the upcoming edition of the DP World ILT20.
An excellent unbeaten 72 off just 50 balls from T20 great Chris Lynn and a typically belligerent 25 not out off 13 balls from finisher Shimron Hetmyer helped the Gulf Giants win the inaugural edition of the International League T20.
Captain James Vince led from the front by playing a match-winning knock of unbeaten 83 runs off just 56 balls to help the Giants chase down a target of 168 in 18.1 overs.
The James Vince-led Giants will aim to bounce back against the winner of the Eliminator between MI Emirates and Dubai Capitals in Qualifier 2 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, February 10.
