About Gulf Giants

Gulf Giants is an extension of Adani Sportsline's brand Gujarat Giants. It aims to engage and connect with cricket fans worldwide at the UAE ILT20. The team is named Gulf Giants to honour the UAE.

The golden falcon in the logo is the national bird of the UAE, and has a rich cultural and historical significance. It is considered a powerful symbol of strength. To maintain the uniformity of the team’s identity, the logo's colours are drawn from the Giants team family.

The Gulf Giants are guided by Head Coach Andy Flower, former Zimbabwe captain and 2010 ICC World T20-winning coach with the England team.

In the inaugural season of the ILT20, England's James Vince captained the Gulf Giants to glory, clinching the title by defeating the Desert Vipers in a thrilling final. The Gulf Giants displayed remarkable consistency throughout the tournament, winning 7 out of 8 games in the league stage, with just one loss. Vince led by example, scoring an impressive 439 runs in the 11 matches he played. On the bowling front, Chris Jordan stood out, claiming 20 wickets in 10 innings, emerging as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

Moving on to the second season in January 2024, the Gulf Giants found themselves in the playoffs once again, maintaining their momentum from the previous year, finishing second in the league stage with 6 wins out of 10 games. However they were unable to make it back to back title wins.

Vince continued to shine with the bat, emerging as the highest run-scorer in the tournament, tallying 356 runs in 12 innings. On the bowling front, Zuhaib Zubair impressed for the Gulf Giants, claiming 11 wickets in 8 innings, showcasing his talent with the ball.

About the Home Stadium: Dubai International Stadium

The Gulf Giants call the Dubai International Stadium their home ground. This stadium can hold up to 25,000 fans and has seen some major international events.

Overall, the Dubai International Stadium has witnessed thrilling cricket matches and has hosted some of the biggest games in cricket history, making it a significant venue in the cricketing world.
