The third season of the DP World ILT20  is set to begin on January 11, 2025, and we cannot contain our excitement. We had an excellent time in the second season, managing to qualify for the Playoffs once again. Although we were defeated in Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, the season was still memorable with many exciting performances from our players. It was a season to remember, filled with great moments and achievements.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the Vitality Blast are in full swing, and our Giants have been in excellent form this season, especially Saurabh Netravalkar. Hampshire found themselves at the mercy of Worrall's artistry as he rattled their batting order with 3 wickets for a mere 44 runs in the first innings, contributing significantly to Hampshire's paltry total of 151. Worrall returned with even greater vigor in the second innings; with precision and finesse, he weaved his magic, conceding a mere 47 runs while claiming an impressive 5-wicket haul. In 2024, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) cricket team had a triumphant year, clinching the ACC Men’s Premier Cup with a remarkable victory over Oman in the final. The DP World ILT20 wrapped up a few weeks ago, and while our Gulf Giants didn't clinch the title, we had a commendable season, making it to the Playoffs. Many of our players have been staying busy, transitioning from the ILT20 to international matches and now into the Indian T20 League.

As Season 2 of the DP World ILT20 comes to a close, we reflect on an exhilarating journey. While our aim was to defend the title, the path was challenging. Dubai Capitals emerged victorious in Qualifier 2, securing a well-deserved spot in the finals. Despite the setback, we hold immense pride in our team's relentless efforts throughout the tournament.

Qualifier 1 did not go as planned, and our Gulf Giants faced a tough defeat against MI Emirates. Our next challenge is facing the Dubai Capitals in Qualifier 2, with the goal of reaching the final for the second time in a row. Despite losing Qualifier 1 in the previous season, we turned things around to win the tournament, and we're drawing strength from that experience.

Qualifier 1 did not unfold as we hoped, with MI Emirates emerging victorious over our Gulf Giants by 45 runs. Their stellar performance earned them a well-deserved spot in the Finals, while we must regroup ahead of Qualifier 2 against the Dubai Capitals in our pursuit to defend the DP World ILT20 title.
